Instructions Before Your Visit:
- Come to our office with a trusted person that will bring you home and stay with you for a few hours until you feel ready and well to be alone.
- You should not have anything to drink or eat 6 hours prior to the procedure.
- You can have regular food after your procedure assuming that you do not develop any nausea.
- Wear comfortable clothes. Dark colored skirts are preferable as they may hide the presence of pads or any bleeding should your clothes be soiled. You may want to bring a change of underwear, sanitary pads or tampons from home.
- Do not bring any valuables with you.
- The procedure will take only a few minutes once you are in the procedure room and you have completed the ultrasound and blood testing.
- You will receive medications to relax you, to numb and alleviate pain.
- We will start only when you feel very comfortable.
- Once the procedure is completed you will be observed for a while in the recovery room to make sure that you are feeling well.
- Once feeling well, you will be able to dress and join your party.
- We will answer all your questions and make sure you are ready to go home.
- We will see you in our office again in 2-3 weeks to make sure your recovery is going well, and we will discuss your contraceptive method of choice.
- Payment method for your procedure is cash or credit card. The full amount is due at the time of service.
- You should anticipate being at our office about one hour.
